Islay Scotch Barrel (66G) - Fresh Dumped

These fresh-dumped, peated Islay Scotch Barrels come to us straight from the distillery on Islay, the storied island in Scotland. Islay is known for its whiskies with intense peat and smoky flavors. They are ready to be filled with beer, wine, cider or any other beverage you want to age.

The barrels will add their smoky notes to any aged beer, cider, mead, wine or another spirit. Strong, bold stouts have been known to balance out and complement the smoke flavor.

Note: As is common with Scotch whisky barrels, these are made from the charred, white oak staves of former American bourbon barrels. Dimensions vary (see photos), but size in gallons held is more consistent. Midwest Barrel Co. will send barrels of the same dimensions for orders of multiple barrels while supplies last.

FREIGHT
Fresh barrels will be shipped via a LTL motor freight provider. To ensure safety and freshness of your barrels, they are wrapped in plastic and strapped down to a pallet with a label identifying the pallet contents.

Barrels can be shipped up to 4 barrels per pallet and 8 barrels per skid (two pallets high).

Shipment transit times vary depending on location, weather and carrier capacity. For specific delivery dates, expedited shipping, preferred shipping carrier or unique delivery requests contact us directly to arrange your shipment prior to ordering.

At checkout you will be asked to confirm your delivery location type. If you do not have a loading dock or forklift, a liftgate will be required. Offloads by hand are not available.
