As ex-bourbon barrels last used to age traditional Michigan syrup for several months at Blis Gourmet. These barrels will add a unique flavor to whatever you age in them. Prior to aging maple syrup, most of the barrels were originally used to age Older Heaven Hill Bourbon brands. Blis Gourmet produces some of the finest bourbon barrel aged maple syrup in the world!
*These maple syrup barrels have both a head and a belly bung.
* Maple syrup sucks the moisture out of the wood of the barrels during the aging process. It is always recommended that maple syrup barrels be swelled prior to filling with liquid.
