A wine barrel with marks or markings still has authentic cooperage stamps and/or other markings on them. A wine barrel without marks or markings either doesn’t have stamps/markings or we sanded them off. Wine heads WITH markings limit the amount of engravable space, and the design has to work around the stamp. The markings are typically located at the top middle of the head and/or bottom middle. Choosing a barrel head without markings allows us to use the full engraving space with fewer design sizing limitations.

You can upload your artwork file when prompted while placing your order. You can also email your artwork to us. We prefer artwork to be in vector format, such as Adobe Illustrator (AI), EPS or vector PDF. If you don’t have one of these files, a high-resolution JPEG will work most of the time but may require additional conversion charges.

Barrels are our specialty, so we try to stick to those. However, if we have extra time, we can do engraving on certain items made from wood only. We have a talented team of graphic designers and laser engravers who can work with you to bring your ideas to life. If you aren’t sure whether your desired design will work, then please contact us. If your design is created from a photograph or drawn, then you will need to consult with our team. This may also require a custom art fee.

We aim to have our engraved items out the door within 3 business days after the proof was approved. During our busy season (November to December), this timeline may be slightly longer. Large quantity orders are subject to longer turnaround times. We will always communicate with you on expected turnaround.

We do not engrave any copyrighted logos, slogans or other trademarks unless the customer is the copyright owner or has written permission to use the artwork. This includes team or alcohol brand logos and trademarks. You will need to provide proof of ownership or written permission from the owner before we can engrave an item with a logo, slogan or other artwork protected by copyright or trademark.

We do not engrave photos of people. We typically do not engrave photos of pets, but you can send your desired photo for our team to evaluate. If accepted, this would include a custom art fee.

Yes, you can! The cost for side engraving is the same as top engraving. One location of engraving is included from the start, whether it's the top or side. You can also add locations (top, sides) for $50 per location.

Whiskey Heads: The engravable space is between 18”-20” in diameter.

Wine Heads: These are typically a tad bit larger. They range closer to 19”-21”

Sides: We are limited more on space on the sides due to the curve of the barrel. We aim to stay within a 12” x 12” space. We can do multiple side locations though! (Each location is an additional $50.)
